Expectations:  As an instructor, I have high expectations of each of my students.  Every student is expected to:

  • Come to class on time each day ready to do his or her best with a cooperative attitude willing to learn.
  • Be respectful of themselves, others, and the instructor.
  • Participate in all assigned activities.
  • Have fun learning.

Grading Scale:  The scale used will be the scale adopted by the Blytheville School District as given in your student handbook.

Student Organization:  FFA is the student organization associated with the Horticulture department.  FFA is an integral part of the horticulture program.  As FFA is one of the three vital components of a well rounded Agriculture program, along with classroom instruction and Supervised Agriculture Experience Programs (SAEP), in order for a student to receive full benefit of the instruction, he/she should be an FFA member.  It is strongly encouraged that all Horticulture students be FFA members.  Membership dues are $20.00, payable by September 29th.

Participation in FFA Activities:  In order to be sure the focus remains upon why we are all here, students getting an education, the following guidelines will be used in determining eligibility to participate in FFA activities.

  • Any FFA member wishing to participate must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0.
  • Any FFA member who receives more that 1 F for a grading period will not be eligible until that grade improves.
  • Any FFA member who receives No Credit for any class will not be eligible to participate in FFA activities above the chapter level the next semester nor receive an FFA degree that year.
  • Any FFA member who has 8 or more absences during a semester will not be allowed to participate in any FFA activities for the remainder of that semester and will not be permitted to participate in activities requiring travel the next semester.
