1962-63 History

Currently we are working on compiling our chapter history.  Here is what we have so far for the 1962 - 63 school year. BHS FFA Wins Twice

Blytheville chapter of the Future Farmers of America won two firsts in Mississippi County FFA Federation competition at Armorel Monday.  The seven- man parliamentary procedure team repeated for first place as did Tommy Burnham in public speaking.  Members of the winning team were James McClanahan, Jerry Summers, Jerry Roberts, Hal Baker, Chester Renfro, Paul Simmons, and Billy Jones.  Armorel was host for the all-county meet.  Carol Flanagan, Luxora, was crowned Federation Sweetheart.  Shirley Catt of Wilson was first runner-up.  Second place winner in the parliamentary procedure contests was Wilson FFA.  Gene Dowty, Keiser, placed second in public speaking.  Gosnell gained a first place in the talent competition and Armorel was second.
